The worst performers of the session were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:), which fell 29.20% or 0.160 points to trade at 0.388 at the close. National Bank of Greece (AT:) declined 27.50% or 0.06 points to end at 0.14 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:) was down 27.21% or 0.037 points to 0.099.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 93 to 5 and 11 ended unchanged.

Gold for April delivery was up 3.46% or 40.00 to $1197.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.35% or 0.72 to hit $30.16 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.61% or 0.55 to trade at $33.51 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.31% to 1.1190, while EUR/GBP rose 0.87% to 0.7757.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.27% at 96.71.
