The best performers of the session on the were Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:), which rose 5.88% or 0.05 points to trade at 0.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Cia Hering (SA:) added 4.75% or 0.59 points to end at 13.00 and CCR SA (SA:) was up 3.72% or 0.45 points to 12.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EcoRodovias SA (SA:), which fell 7.36% or 0.31 points to trade at 3.90 at the close. Smiles ON (SA:) declined 3.04% or 0.94 points to end at 30.01 and WEG SA (SA:) was down 2.30% or 0.33 points to 14.02.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 171 to 104 and 25 ended unchanged.

Gold for April delivery was down 2.40% or 29.80 to $1209.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.12% or 0.33 to hit $29.77 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $117.50 .
USD/BRL was down 0.10% to 3.9996, while EUR/BRL fell 1.06% to 4.4590.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.79% at 96.75.
